The Top Ten Security Threats for 2008 (Part 6)

Marching forward with the top ten cybersecurity threats for 2008,  another critical cybersecurity threat for 2008 is:

      — Cyberbullying, cyberterrorism and electronic violence.

US researchers have warned that bullies have moved from the real-world to the cyberworld targeting teens with abuse and violent e-mail, social networking postings, text messaging, and online chat. The number of children ages 10 to 17 that say they were abused by cyberbullies jumped 50 percent, from six percent in 2000 to nine percent in 2005, according to a new report from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention featured in CNN.

In the world of adults,  cyberintimidation, threats and other hostile acts of electronic aggression and violence continues to rise.   This 10 ten cybersecurity threat will continue to increase in 2008 and beyond.
